NORTH EAST MOUNTAIN TRUST - WINTER LECTURES 2010-2011

A Quality Future for Mountaineers and Hill-Walkers

Wednesday 13th October 2010

Walking in the North West Highlands

Andy Nisbet

Further from the cities, but it opens up magnificent peaks, ridges and corries, especially in Torridon with lots of new summer and winter climbs for a keen young lad who tried hard to get there first. And even for a keen, not so young lad, who still explores there.

Andy Nisbet: Has always lived for the hills, finishing the Munros at 19 before starting summer and winter climbing. Best known for pushing forward mixed climbing standards in Scotland in the 80s, he left Aberdeen to work as a climbing instructor and live nearer the hills, and the North-West in particular. Andy has written many of the recent SMC climbing guidebooks, including the North-West, and has grown to love the area, both for climbing and walking.

Venue: Belmont Club, 218 The Hardgate, Aberdeen (map)

Time: 7.30 pm

Admission £4.00    Members & Concessions £2.00

All welcome
